GLOBE Observer offers an opportunity for individuals to actively engage in observing and documenting the Earth's phenomena. Through this app, users can contribute valuable data that aims to enhance scientists' comprehension of satellite data captured by NASA from outer space.

The current version of GLOBE Observer encompasses four distinct capabilities. GLOBE Clouds allows observers to regularly document and compare the cloud cover on Earth with NASA's satellite observations. With GLOBE Mosquito Habitat Mapper, users can identify and monitor mosquito habitats, mitigating the potential risks associated with mosquito-borne diseases. GLOBE Land Cover enables users to document various elements present on land, such as trees, grass, and buildings. Lastly, GLOBE Trees assigns users the task of estimating tree height through the capture of tree images and answering a set of related questions. The app may include additional capabilities in the future.
